Formation of hydrogen peroxide after ion implantation in water ice

The formation of hydrogen peroxide has been studied after ion implantation in thick () water ice samples at 16 K and 77 K and after ion irradiation of thin films (). The experimental results have been discussed in view of their relevance to our knowledge of the physico-chemical properties of ices in dense interstellar clouds () and on galilean satellites ().
